Called Kattilmadom, this Shiva temple structure shows distinct Buddhist influence. Historians date it to 9th or 10th century AD. Parambikulam Wildlife Sanctuary At a distance of 97km from Palakkad lies this tiny sanctuary. Nothing missed if you can't make a trip. Nelliampathi A little over 75km from Palghat, this valley is thickly forested with Amazonian teak trees. It also has estates of tea, coffee and cardamom. Silent Valley National Park About 2 hours from Palakkad is this virgin forest that is home to deer and elephants. But make sure you have a letter of permission from the the District Forest Officer in Palakkad. |
