Location: The
Kumarakom Lake Resort is on the banks of Lake Vembanad… a
heritage resort straight out of a picture postcard. The cottages
and the restaurant are reassembled from classic historical
houses from all over Kerala, built by kings over 200 years ago.
The restaurant was originally the home of a master of martial
arts, built by the King of Travancore, and was carefully
dismantled piece by piece by master craftsmen, and reassembled
in The Lake resort.
Accommodation: The
resort offers 52 cottages consisting of Standard Heritage Villas
and Superior Heritage Villas, spread over 10 beautifully
landscaped acres. The cottages consist of Standard Heritage
Villas and Superior Heritage Villas, designed to reflect a
bygone era, with traditionally carves woodwork and antiques. The
unique bathrooms are open air, and offer a completely different
experience.
Restaurants & Bars: The
Ettukettu restaurant serves traditional Kerala delicacies, as well as
Chinese, Continental, Mughlai and North Indian fare. At the Ettukettu
Restaurant, stress is on ethnic Kerala cooking. Specialty served here
include Syrian Christian Duck Roast, Duck Curry, Karimeen Pollichuthu,
Karimeen Mappas, soft spongy rice bread called Appams, Thamarappam
speciality, Iddiappams (string hoppers). Coffee shop Anytime you
feel like a nibble, make thee to the coffee shop. Hot packoras, samosas,
dosas and hot steaming coffee, your favorite soft drink or a variety of
ice-creams. Outdoor barbecue How about a barbecue, in a golden
sunset, under starry skies, under swaying palms on a moonlit night? Right
beside the pool to the side of the Arts Centre (where the cultural
performances are staged). Enjoy tasty Kebabs while you watch Gods take

among the palm trees on the eastern shore of Lake Vembanad, at
the mouth of the Kavanar River, Coconut Lagoon Heritage Resort
is set on a coconut plantation in the very heart of these
